It's the real formula, ported faithfully from the same scoring logic every deal on this site is run through before it's posted. One thing left out on purpose: an internal check for near-duplicate reposts, which isn't something you'd ever need to check for a deal you're looking at yourself.
Does a higher score mean I should definitely buy it?
No — it means the deal clears more of the signals this site checks for automatically (discount size, a working coupon, a bank offer, a recognizable brand). It's not a substitute for checking the deal's actual price history yourself; see the full deal-verification checklist for that.
Why does Amazon get extra points that other stores don't?
That's a real quirk of the underlying formula, not a judgment that Amazon deals are inherently better — it reflects this site's own posting history and verification confidence being highest for Amazon specifically. Worth knowing rather than hiding.
